For trilogies, sagas and beloved series, this custom rebind service transforms a collection of paperbacks into a cohesive set of handmade hardcovers, designed to belong together upon the shelf.

Each volume will receive its own cover design, chosen materials and finishing details, while sharing a visual language across the full collection.

This listing is for a fully finished custom rebind of three or more books, handmade by Art & Parcel.

Begin your commission

When ordering, you will be asked to provide:

• Series title
• Book titles and authors
• Number of books in the set
• Preferred editions, where relevant
• Preferred colours, materials or overall aesthetic
• Favourite characters, symbols, scenes or motifs
• Details you would like included or avoided
• Inspiration images, where helpful
• Whether you would like sprayed or stencilled edges

You do not need to arrive with a complete design in mind.

A favourite scene, a handful of symbols, a mood board or simply the feeling you want the collection to carry is enough to begin.

A series designed as one

Each book will be designed as its own volume while still belonging to the wider collection.

Your series may be unified through:

• Matching borders or framing
• Coordinated title placement
• Repeated spine details
• Complementary cover symbols
• Shared colours or materials
• Artwork that develops across the series
• A continuous shelf design, where suitable

The final direction will be shaped around your chosen books, materials and creative brief.

What is included

Each custom series rebind includes:

• A suitable paperback edition of each book
• Removal of the original paperback covers
• Spine reinforcement
• Construction of new hardcover cases
• Book cloth covering
• Decorative endpapers
• Decorative headbands
• Custom cover artwork for each volume
• Iron-on vinyl application
• Pressing and finishing
• Digital proofs before final production

Each volume is transformed from an existing paperback into a handmade hardcover.

Please note: this is a rebinding service, not a restoration service or construction of books from loose pages.

Optional sprayed or stencilled edges

You may choose to add decorated page edges to your series.

Available options include:

• Simple sprayed edges
• Stencilled sprayed edges
• Detailed or custom sprayed edges by quote

Sprayed edges are created by hand and may have slight variations between volumes. This is part of the handmade nature of the finished set.

The design process

Your commission includes:

1. Review of your submitted brief
2. Development of one cohesive series design direction
3. Digital proofs for your review
4. Up to two rounds of minor revisions
5. Preparation of the final cover artwork
6. Binding and finishing of each volume

Minor revisions may include adjustments to wording, placement, scale, colours or selected design details.

Requests for a completely new design direction after the first proof has been created may require an additional design fee.

Production will not begin until the final design direction has been approved.

A note on handmade books

Each Art & Parcel rebind is made by hand in a small home bindery.

Tiny variations may be present, including slight differences in alignment, cloth tension, corners, vinyl placement, sprayed edges or finish.

These small details are part of the handmade nature of the piece and mean no two volumes will ever be exactly alike.

Your books will not look factory-made. They will look made, handled, transformed and finished one at a time.

Timeframe

Custom series rebinds are slow, detailed projects.

Turnaround time will depend on the number of books, design complexity, material availability and current commission queue.

If your set is intended for a gift or special date, please include this when ordering so Art & Parcel can confirm whether the timeframe is possible before work begins.

One by one, the ordinary paperbacks will be transformed into volumes made to stand together.

A row of stories becomes a matching collection.

A favourite series becomes something made by hand, designed for your shelf, and finished with the small, imperfect magic of the bindery.
