The case has been built. The cloth has been wrapped. Now it is time to give the volume its name.

Choose a cover design from the Art & Parcel catalogue and have it prepared in iron-on vinyl for your own rebinding project.

Most catalogue designs can be adapted with your chosen book title and author while retaining the original artwork and layout. Your design will arrive pre-cut and ready for you to weed, position and apply to your finished clothbound case.

Please note: this is a physical pre-cut HTV product. Rebinding materials, tools, instructions and the book itself are not included.

Choose the design your story will wear

Select your preferred artwork from the Art & Parcel cover catalogue.

Most catalogue designs can be adapted for a different title and author while keeping the central artwork and overall layout.

When ordering, you will be asked to provide:

• Your chosen catalogue design
• Book title
• Author name
• Finished front cover dimensions
• Finished spine width
• Finished back cover dimensions
• Preferred vinyl colour

Please measure the completed hardcover case wherever possible, rather than the original paperback cover.

If a design cannot be adapted successfully to the wording or measurements provided, Art & Parcel will contact you before the vinyl is cut.

Within your parcel

Your parcel will contain the elements included in your selected catalogue design, which may include:

• Pre-cut iron-on vinyl for the front cover
• Pre-cut iron-on vinyl for the spine
• Pre-cut iron-on vinyl for the back cover
• Practice vinyl 

Please review the catalogue images carefully, as they show which cover elements are included with each design.

The HTV will remain on its carrier sheet and will need to be weeded before application.

Before the design meets the cloth

Every household iron, heat press, book cloth and vinyl finish can behave a little differently.

Use the supplied practice strips to test:

• Heat
• Pressure
• Application time
• Cooling and peeling method

Complete this test before applying the final design to your finished book case.

Some designs contain small lettering or intricate details that require patience to weed. Work slowly with a fine-point metal weeding tool and allow the artwork to reveal itself piece by piece.

What you will need

To complete the cover, you will need:

• Your finished clothbound book case
• A fine-point metal weeding tool
• A household iron or heat press
• A firm, heat-safe work surface
• Baking paper or another suitable protective sheet, where required

Application settings can vary according to your chosen vinyl and equipment. Always begin with the supplied practice materials.
